Parumala DB Pampa College celebrated Reading Day 2026 on 19/06/2026 with a series of meaningful programs to instill and strengthen the reading habit among students and staff.
The celebrations commenced soon after the morning assembly. The entire college community, comprising teaching, non-teaching, and student representatives, gathered to take the Reading Day pledge. This collective pledge marked the beginning of the day’s activities. Following the pledge, a Book Review Competition was conducted for students from various departments. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation and encouraged students to engage critically with the books they read.
The formal session in the afternoon was dedicated to the inauguration of the Library Committee and the Reading Day celebrations. The meeting was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Suresh S., Principal of DB Pampa College. The meeting was inaugurated by the Honorable Sri. Bodhanee Prabhakaran Nair, who also delivered the keynote address. In his address, he spoke on the importance of reading and its profound impact on the personality development of an individual. He emphasized the need for the youth to remain close to books and make reading a daily habit.
Dr. Priya Mol P. delivered the welcome speech at the function. Library Committee Convenor Dr. Savitha Pramod , Dr. Sathyajith S., IQAC co- ordinator, and Dr. Ashwini S.P. shared their views.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Radhika Lakshmi.A.
The event received active participation from students and faculty and successfully set the tone for year-long reading initiatives at DB Pampa College.
