Population Day Celeberation 2026

“Understanding Population Dynamics for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”
Every year, World Population Day reminds us of the importance of understanding how population trends shape our society, economy, and environment. It serves as a global platform to raise awareness about issues such as population growth, sustainable development, gender equality, healthcare, education, and resource management. As responsible citizens, it is essential that we recognize the role each of us plays in building a sustainable future.
To commemorate this occasion, the PG Department of Mathematics and Statistics, DB Pampa College, Parumala, in association with the Mathematics Club, organized a Population Day Celebration on 13 July 2026 at Ramanujan Hall. The event aimed to create awareness among students while making learning interactive and enjoyable.
The highlight of the celebration was an exciting Quiz Competition, designed to test participants’ knowledge, analytical ability, and logical reasoning. The competition featured four engaging rounds:
Population Pulse – A rapid-fire round on population facts, demographic trends, and statistics.
Crosswords – A crossword challenge based on population, development, and sustainability.
Futoshiki – A logic-based number puzzle that tested analytical thinking.
Ko-ho – A general knowledge round that evaluated participants’ presence of mind and quick thinking.
Students from different departments enthusiastically participated in the competition, making the event lively and intellectually stimulating. Besides promoting awareness of population-related issues, the programme encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and healthy competition.
The celebration was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Suresh S, Principal, with Mr. Unni M. S serving as the Convenor. The organizing committee, comprising faculty members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
