The Department of Zoology, D. B. Pampa College, Parumala, in association with the Biosphere Club<\/strong> and Janaseva Trust, Pathanamthitta<\/strong>, organized an awareness talk titled \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Life After Life: The Science and Spirit of Organ Donation\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/strong> on August 13 (Wednesday)<\/strong> at 10.45 AM<\/strong> in the Smart Seminar Hall<\/strong> as part of the observance of World Organ Donation Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session was presided over by Prof. Dr. Suresh S., Principal<\/strong>, who emphasized the importance of sensitizing young minds towards the noble act of organ donation. Dr. Vani S., Head of the Department of Zoology<\/strong>, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the objective of the event and the significance of organ donation in saving lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awareness talk was delivered by Dr. Saramma Abraham, MBBS, MD<\/strong>, Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine, Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Thiruvalla<\/strong>. Dr. Saramma elaborated on both the scientific aspects and ethical dimensions<\/strong> of organ donation, explaining the medical procedures, donor criteria, and the emotional and social impact of such humanitarian acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty members Dr. Abhijith R. S.<\/strong> and Dr. Bhavya<\/strong> also addressed the gathering, sharing their insights on promoting awareness and encouraging voluntary participation in organ donation initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program witnessed active participation from the first-year students of all departments<\/strong>, who were the main beneficiaries of the session. The event concluded with an interactive discussion, where students raised thoughtful questions, reflecting their enthusiasm and awareness on the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program ended with a vote of thanks, marking a successful and enlightening observance of World Organ Donation Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
