As part of the academic enrichment and exposure program, the Department of Zoology organized a visit to Pushpagiri Medical College and Research Institute, Thiruvalla, on 18 October 2025. The visit was undertaken by the FYUGP major and minor Zoology students along with faculty members, following their visit to ABTEC, Kottayam.
The students were warmly received by the research team under the guidance of Dr. Aniket Naha, Scientist and Student Coordinator. They were given an overview of the institution’s research facilities and had the opportunity to visit and interact in various laboratories, including the Virology Lab, Animal House Facility, and Tissue Engineering Lab.
During the session, the students were introduced to advanced laboratory instruments and techniques such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Lyophilizer, and Bioreactor. The interaction provided valuable insights into biomedical research and experimental animal studies, greatly enriching the students’ understanding of applied life sciences.
The visit served as an excellent platform for students to connect theoretical learning with modern research practices, inspiring them toward higher studies and research careers in biological and biomedical sciences.
