Two-Day Media Lecture Series 2025
The Department of English at DB Pampa College, Parumala, organized a Two-Day Media Lecture Series on September 18 and 19, 2025, at the Smart Seminar Hall. The event aimed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of contemporary media practices, challenges, and ethical concerns, featuring insightful sessions by renowned media professionals.
The distinguished speakers included M. V. Nikesh Kumar, Senior Journalist; Sreeja Shyam, Deputy Associate Editor, News18 Keralam; and Anupama G. Nair, Secretary, KUWJ Trivandrum. Each session offered a unique perspective on the evolving role of media in shaping public discourse and highlighted the responsibilities of journalists in today’s dynamic socio-political landscape.
The interactive sessions encouraged students to engage critically with media-related issues, fostering awareness about journalistic integrity, digital media transformations, and communication ethics. The event was well-received by both students and faculty, marking a significant academic enrichment experience for the department.
As part of the programme, the Department of English also honoured the media persons from the Mannar Media Centre for their insightful contributions and continued support in promoting student activities and media awareness.
